Foundations and towers for on and offshore wind turbines.

Smulders Group started 20 years ago with the production of steel towers for land-based wind turbines. Approximately 10 years later, and driven by the turbine suppliers, Smulders Group started with the construction of steel monopile foundations for sea-based wind turbine parks, and evolved from pioneer to market leader with an established track record. The next step of producing towers for offshore applications was a logical option to complement the product portfolio for the wind turbine market.

The coming decades the market for wind energy will take a leap forward. Turbines are increasing in size and are placed further from shore in deeper waters. Other foundation forms are becoming necessary. Smulders Group is anticipating this by expanding capacity and facilities, whilest taking into account the changing quality requirements, the most up to date technological developments and new generations of foundations.

The product portfolio is supplemented with on- and offshore module construction of the Smulders High-grade Constructions division which, amongst others, produces offshore high voltage substations.
